When you get old it is obvious that the eyesight also weakens. But, in today’s polluted world it is very difficult to maintain good eyesight even in youth. There are a lot of things like constant watching of T.V., poor food habits, video games, radiations from the screen of computer etc. that contribute much towards deteriorating situation as far as eyesight is concerned.
Green and yellow vegetables are excellent for eyes. Carrot, Spinach, Chicory, Bilberry, Ginkgo Biloba, Green Chillies, Blueberries, Triphala Powder, Honey, Mahonia Grapes, etc. should become the part of diet if you want a healthy eyesight for a long period. Carrot juice is the source of Vitamins and Minerals like Beta Carotene, Manganese, Iron and Calcium. These vitamins and minerals are excellent for strengthening eye muscles and improving the eyesight. For tasty carrot juice, blend one carrot with half cup of milk. Add some honey for better results.
Spinach is a good source of iron and amino acids. Its intake is necessary for proper functioning of body as well as eye muscles. It also prevents erosion of retina. Due to its keratin properties, spinach helps in firming up skin, hair and nails. According to a study, women must eat spinach because during periods female body loses many blood cells. Spanish helps to recover those cells rapidly.
The roots of Chicory herb help treat eye injuries quickly and effectively. Chicory herb is a fine source of Vitamin A. It provides strength to eye muscles and nerves around the eyes. The intake of the powder of Chicory root twice a day with Honey is good for eyesight.

It is also advised to drink two to three glasses of Low fat Milk daily for good eye health. You can add honey instead of sugar in milk for changed taste. This improves night vision and provides clarity in color identification. Leaves of turnip, milk and milk products, cabbage, tomato, peas, lime juice, orange, papaya, mangos etc. should be eaten regularly if you want to attract the world with the shine of your eyes.
