Natural Remedies For Malaria

Malaria is a communicable parasitic infectious disease caused by protozoa of the genus plasmodium. Malaria attacks the red blood cells and causes fever, chills, shivering, sweating, muscle ache, fatigue, nausea, queasiness and headache. It is chiefly caused by female anopheles mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are chiefly confined to tropical and subtropical areas. The symptoms of malaria become clear after a gap of 7-8 days of the anopheles mosquito bite.

Malaria is of 3 types: tertian malaria fever, quartan malaria fever, and malignant malaria fever. Tertian malaria fever attacks the human body on alternate days, quartan malaria fever attacks human body after the interval of two days. Malignant malaria is a cruel type of fever and its grip on human body remains continuous.

Natural remedies for malaria is also effective. When malaria fever attacks you, rush to your doctor for treatment but side by side do adopt herbal ways to kill the infection completely.  Drink 2-3 glass of lemon juice daily. Basil tea and juice of basil leaves are also very useful in curing malaria. Basil (tulsi) is termed as queen of herbs in herbal science. You can mix black pepper in basil juice for taste.

Cinnamon tea with honey is also beneficial for reliving nausea, queasiness and headache caused by malaria. Seeds of Fenugreek are also effective in improving the health of immune system and in fighting against parasitic attack of protozoa of the genus plasmodium.

Intake of 2-3 bulbs of garlic daily helps in treating malaria. Due to its anti-biotic and anti-bacterial qualities garlic is used as a powerful herb for removing bacteria of malaria from the very root. Wormwood contains artemesinin that is very useful in treating malaria.

Swertia Chirata (chirayata) is a helpful herb for lessening the body temperature. You can also add cinnamon or cloves in chirayata for better results. Boil Chirayata herb in water and consume this water twice a day for relief. Alum is also very useful in treating attacks of fever.

Grapefruit due to its quinine content is very helpful in this regard. The extract of grapefruit is available in the drug shops but you can also prepare it at home. For this boil grape fruit and mash its pulp to make an extract.  Fever nut plant’s seeds are also useful in treating malaria. These are also available in herbal drug shops.

Indian Dhatura is very useful in treating malaria particularly the tertian malaria. You can make pills from dhatura leaves. It is the easiest home remedy.
