Natural Remedies For Menstrual Cramps

Menstrual cramps create a feeling of dull pain in the lower abdomen before or during the menstrual periods. This pain can move to the low back or thigh area causing loose stools, sweating, dizziness and nausea. There are two types of menstrual cramps, the primary and secondary. The primary cramps can start within several years after the first period with no physical abnormality. The secondary cramps are associated with a health condition such as uterine fibroids, uterine polyps, and pelvic inflammation. Some natural remedies are effective to treat this problem.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Flax oil (linseed oil) is  the richest natural source of it, hemp oil is the best balance of omega 6:3, rapeseed oil, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and soybean oil are also rich in omega 6. Use these natural sources in your diet regularly to get the benefit of omega-3 fatty acids.

Magnesium: It is a mineral which is found in foods like green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grain to cure this disease. In menstrual cramps magnesium helps in two ways. Pumpkin Seeds: Make a habit of eating pumpkin seeds one week before your period is starting. Eat about quarter of cup pumpkin seeds during period and this will make you pain free.

Acupressure is also a method to cure this problem as an alternative remedy. The pressure is applied on the particular points to heal this disease effectively.
