Triphala: Natural Gift To Detoxify The Body

Triphala is a combination of three herbs namely Indian Gooseberry (Amalaki), Chebulic Myrobalan (Haritaki) and Bellirica Myrobalan (Bibhitaki). What is Triphala ?

It is a very simple formula to prepare Triphala even at home. Only three herbs ingredients named Haritaki, Bibhitaki, Amalaki are mixed properly in the proportion of 1:2:4 , in pure powder or churna form.

Chebulic Myrobalan (Haritaki): This word ‘Haritaki’ is found in all ayurvedic textbooks and it is nourishing like the milk of a mother. It can help in increasing the absorption of all food nutrients. The entire digestive system, absorptive, assimilative and a excretory process are looked after by it. Haritaki herb is useful in diarrhea, dysentery and flatulence. It can work wonderfully on mixing with the other two herbs.

Indian Gooseberry (Amalaki): This is popularly known as amla fruit. Its taste is sweet, sour, bitter, astringent and pungent and it has got five out of six tastes except salty taste. Relieving Constipation and colon cleanser: Triphala is very effective to cure constipation and helps in cleansing the colon naturally. One to two tablespoon as per requirement, with glassful of water is taken at night before sleep. It can also be taken early in the morning empty stomach for chronic constipation patients for a week.
