Natural Remedies For Insomnia

It is a common problem and large number of people are suffering from insomnia.  Mental disorder, stress, tension, depression and dietary imbalance are the causes of it. Go to the bed when the person is actually tired to get sleep. It is advised to keep a regular sleep schedule to fight this problem. Physical exercises will keep the person fit to get sleep quickly without any disturbance. Some herbal and natural treatments are good to be used to have sound sleep.

Valerian: It is very good natural medicine. It relaxes the person and this resulted in good sleep. Make a tea of it at bed time to get good sleep. Chopped roots are to be boiled in water to drink before retiring. It can be taken twice or thrice to get relief.  It is available in tincture and capsules also.

Chamomile Tea : It is traditionally used for sound sleep. It gives a relaxing effect and calms the person.  Boil water mixing two to three spoons of minced flowers of this herb to drink before going to bed to get relief.

Saint-John’s-wort: It is very good treatment for depression and nervousness. Tea from this herb may be made by mixing one to two spoons of dried flowers of this herb to get sleep at proper time.

Passion Flower: It is very successfully used to get relief from insomnia. It gives mild sedative effect. It virtually increases the levels of chemical named gamma-aminobutyric in the brain to get relaxation and sleep.

Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha): It reduces stress, anxiety and produces relaxation. It can relieve from high blood pressure to cool down. It should not be used without consulting the doctor.

California Poppy: It can promote sleep and gives relaxation to feel free from tension and stress.

Chamomile Tea: It has got mild sedative properties to get sleep and relaxation. It can be taken in the form of tea to feel soothing effect of it instantly.

Hops Tea: Tea of this herb is used to promote sleep.  A cup of hope tea before going to bed is very helpful in getting sound sleep.

KAVA: It contains kavalactones which is mildly sedative and promotes relaxation and sleep.

Lemon Balm: Lemon balm is a natural mild tranquilizer and promotes sleep.

Passionflower: It gives sedative effect. It is quite useful to relax muscle and sleep is promoted. Tension is treated effectively by taking it regularly.

Rooibos tea : Tea of this herb can ease pain from inflammation and sleep is promoted. It is caffeine free. It can be taken in a powdered form also.

Skullcap: It relexes the nerves and promote sleep. Tea can be made to ease tension and depression. Mood swing problem which is the cause of these ailment may be treated with it effectively to bring happiness in life.

Oat straw (Avena sativa): This is extremely useful herb to soothe and nourish the nervous system and it can promote sound and deep sleep.
